I purchased a $759 "Big Deal" on Angie's list to do whole house termite control. The technician showed up about 2 hourslate, at 4PM, to do a job he estimated would take 4 hours. He worked in the dark until 8PM to get the job finished. He drilled holes on the patio and filled them with a Thinset type filler. He did a poor job on filling the holes and they look really bad. They worked for a cheap price and I got sub-standard experience.
I had Action Termite Control come out and give me a bid on termite treatment for my 2,500 sq. foot home on 02/26/2013 in which they provided me a bid of $1,600.00 which included the trenching, treating, drilling and injection of the Termidor solution for subterranean termite infestation. On 03/05/13, I noticed that on the Angie's list Big Deal advertisement for Action Termite Control that they listed the same service on Angie's list for $759.00 for the same treatment/service and the same 10 year warranty, so I purchased this... read more

The Big Deal, that [member name removed] references, clearly states that it only covers an exterior/perimeter application. The deal was to cover a year of pest control, but I think it's a ripoff. They came out twice. Which was like spending $100 each time. You can get the same thing for much less.
We already have termites back again and cannot get anybody out to treat them for over one month!
They came out this morning. I showed him the area I thought were the evidence of termites was. He checks and told me he didn’t see any evidence of termites. I told him that I didn’t want to get the service if I didn’t need it. They recommended another provider if I had other issues needing dealt with. I got a refund for the Big Deal.
I work as a journalist from home. They were to come by between 10am and noon to do a termite inspection. I scheduled my work and interviews around this time, and they didn't show - basically wasting 2 hours of my workday. At 12:10, when I'd gone back to work and was on the phone he called to say he was running late (no kidding) and would be there soon. I of course didn't hear that message. WE HIRED THIS COMPANY BECAUSE OF THE COST AND THE FACT THAT THEY ONLY DO SUB-TERMITES. WE WERE ABLE TO KNOCK THE PRICE DOWN ABOUT 10 DOLLARS BECAUSE WE PAID WITH CASH. TWO GENTLEMEN SHOWED UP AND SPENT TIME TREATING THE TERMITES AND EXPLAINING THE WHOLE PROCEDURE TO MY HUSBAND.
