I rented a duplex from them on York Street in November 2023. I moved in in December and there was no working heating system. I reported it to them and they did not fix it until the end of January, although, the HVAC tech told them the heating system was ancient, broken, and needed to be replaced. They refused. Please listen to all of these reviews. DO not ever rent from these people. It's true, no matter how much you clean you are not getting your security deposit back, they will take pictures of normal wear and tear and say that's damages as an excuse to keep it. I had the place professionally cleaned and still didn't get mine back. When I moved in, the carpets were absolutely filthy and ripped, grime all over the walls. Like all the other reviews they are a horrible business. Do not rent from them at all. When we moved into our rental house 3 years ago the carpets were disgusting and the entire house smelled like dog. I'm sure they took the previous renters deposit and did nothing in the home. They replaced 1 carpet! The house still smelled, and I had to get the carpets cleaned myself. I have had the most frustrating time dealing with the office staff regarding any HOA matters. Which I know they don’t have all the answers to everything, that is not what I’m asking for. But trying to discuss anything with the HOA manager there is like talking to a brick wall. Advantage Gold was really disappointing to work with. After we deep cleaned the mold and disgusting carpet in our rental home, repainted the moldy door and walls that had literal human blood on them ( with their consent), and covered the stained countertop with laminate, they told us that our "damages" exceeded our security deposit and instead of being honest about this they charged us an additional month of rent and sent us a check for the remainder of that additional month (which we never should have paid to begin with).
