Get directionsOur overall experience with Aegis Living Newcastle has been very positive. Finding the right assisted living community for my mom was an important decision, and we have been very happy with the care and support she receives at Aegis. The staff are caring, attentive, and genuinely seem to care about the residents. It gives our family peace of mind knowing that my mom is in a safe and supportive environment and that there are people looking out for her. They have a good reputation and they live up to it. Very friendly and accommodating. Price is a little higher than other places but they are willing to work with you.
It's a beautiful facility. Some of the workers are not too friendly. The dining room food is good for the residents. They have activites such as exercise, golfing and a Japenese singing class. It's very expensive, and the services could be better.
we toured Aegis Gardens and we didn't think it was a good fit for my loved one. they seemed to be culturally one sided and it was located further away from family. we chose another community because Aegis Gardens did not have what we were looking for.

We chose Aegis Gardens Newcastle because of the amenities provided, the friendly staff, and the overall facility. The location is also easy to get to. The room sizes here are good size, it is exactly what my dad needed. They have been great with communication and I would recommend them to others looking.
Follow-up on expected care as the day, night and weekend staff don't always communicate well.
Their assisted living is totally different than their memory care unit. We were originally sold on and moved my mother into assisted living, and it was a nice facility with lots of activities and a restaurant-style eating area that was fantastic. Mom was excited to be there. But shortly after moving in, she needed to be moved to the memory care unit, which is like night an day when compared to assisted living. The memory care unit is more like a dorm with a little hallway, and not nearly as elaborate as the assisted living. ... read more
