My wife needed respite care after a car accident for a few weeks. Her case manager recommended 4 places. After going through each facility I chose Aegis. From the moment she arrived she was given the 5 Star welcome with at least a dozen staff people and residents greeting her. Her studio Apartment was well maintained and spotless as is the entire facility. The management had a welcome basket and an Aegis small blanket waiting for her. My mom has been at Aegis for about 6 months, and she loves it! They have been most kind and welcoming. The services are excellent, and the staff is extremely caring and professional. There are constant activities to keep the residents engaged. There is generally a warm tone, and everyone seems to be very happy there. I give Aegis my highest recommendation!

I would like to thank the angels at Aegis for taking such wonderful care of our parents. The staff went above and beyond the expectations of genuineness of love and respect for human dignity. While the food could use improvement, there is no substitution for peace of mind that your loved ones are properly being cared for. Thank you to all the care takers and service providers at Aegis for all the loving care you showed for our parents

My mother was very reluctant to go into assisted living. It wasn't until a medical and psychiatric crisis occurred that we were able to place her at Aegis. They made a heroic effort and were able to get her apartment ready for her within 12 hours! Our only regret as a family is that we were not able to talk her into moving to assisted-living much earlier. Recently we had to make a very difficult decision to move my mother into an assisted living facility. Mom has lived with me for the past 18 years so I was very particular about the place that we found for her. After LOTS of homework and visiting many assisted living places in Ventura County we found Aegis Living of Ventura. My mother was a recent resident at Aegis and our experience with their facility and staff was exceptional. The support staff is very caring and attentive and kept me up to date on my mother's health and interaction with the other residents and staff. I especially want to mention that Mary Sawyer went above and beyond to assist me with the enrollment process and making sure my mother acclimated to her new home. She even arranged to get transitional furniture in my mom's room to facilitate her arrival from a nearby hospital... read more

Occasionally, you meet people who are so incredibly competent at the jobs they do that it easy to do your business with them. Recently I placed my wife in their memory care unit and needless to say I had a lot of apprehension about the whole process. Mary and Sam made it so easy and the day of intake went so smoothly thanks to their above and beyond efforts in all aspects of this difficult transition. Simply put I don't know what else they could have done to improve. Highly recommend.

Went to visit granny. She was lookin' spry and happy. She said the activities were "da bomb". Glad she's enjoying herself. Another plus was that the paperwork was clear and easy to understand. Someone was blowing up the bathroom, but the staff got on top of that $#!t real quick. thanks Aegis!

Aegis of Ventura is amazing! Our father lived here for seven years (until he recently passed away) and the staff was always kind and caring. We're familiar with all of the assisted living facilities in town, and Aegis is by far the best.
