Dr. Farooq is an excellent clinician and diagnostician who clearly cares about his patients and listens to their concerns. It's a remarkable combination and I'd recommend him to anyone who requires his services.
Amazing, caring and friendly Urologist. Came in after a failed initial surgery at Advocate Lutheran, Dr. Farooq suggest a few easy in offices tests to assess the severity of my stricture within a few days of my initial critical call to Loyola. After the tests, was schedule for surgery quickly, given full information by Dr. Farooq and his staff before, and during the post-op of 4 weeks. I'm a new man after the Uroplasty, Dr. Farooq is an amazing doctor, and, will keep us at Loyola for life!
Had two 10 mm kidney stones. Dr. Farooq went in with a scope and blasted them with a laser. One week later I was good as new. He is by far one of the most caring doctors I have ever met. Really is up to date with the best options for the quickest recovery. Never have I met a Doctor with a better bed side manner. Really made me feel like I was the only patient. His entire staff hands down was so professional. Follow up after the procedure has been outstanding.
A week before a Mexican vacation, I experienced blood in my urine. I called Dr. Farooq, who prescribed some antibiotics with instructions to make an appointment upon my return. The bleeding stopped, the vacation was great, and I DID NOT follow up with Dr. Farooq. At my next appointment, he was insistent that I get more testing. I grudgingly submitted, and through that follow up testing, cancer was discovered in my kidney. Dr. Farooq's uncompromising attention to my health saved my life.
He was my Dad's Urologist. He failed to perform a secondary Cystoscopy in a timely manner which resulted in my Dad dying from Bladder cancer. I learned after my father died that my Dad probably should have received radiation treatments after the initial procedure to prevent the cancer from progressing. Those treatments were never discussed until the cancer had progressed to a stage beyond benefit.
