What a pleasant surprise! I did not expect for this place to become one of my top favorite places to eat in the area, but it did just that! You'll find a bunch of these places that spend lots of money on vibe and decor, but the food is lacking. I walked in thinking this was one of those places. We loved everything that we ordered except the dipping sauce that comes with the chickpea "fries." It needs to be spicier.
Let me first start with the wait staff… they were excellent! It starts with the hostess. I missed her name but she was very warm and came over to see how we were doing in a genuine way. Jackie our server was excellent ( attentive and not pushy). Our food was very good. The wraps were excellent as well as the chowder. Lots of clams ang the taste was great. My ribeye was big and excellent, cooked just how I asked for it. Lamb was excellent
We were there an hour late for our reservation & were still able to get sat despite it being busy & 40 minutes to close time on Friday. We had a young man, Jack, who was at first helping our original server Penny, who was understandably busy with a very large party, but even he was very knowledgeable about the drinks & food. Food is always on point & they have a nice specialty cocktail menu. Our waitress was very nice & attentive. She was honest about a cocktail my husband wanted - apparently, it's been returned often when ordered so he opted to switch to a classic martini. We really appreciated her input. Highly recommend the fried avocado slices & stuffed meatloaf. We will definitely be back!
We were a group of ten celebrating July Birthdays for 3 people. I specifically chose this restaurant for the variety of food offered for the two vegan diners.we often go to restaurants that do not offer more than a vegege burger.Alden park has several vegan options.
