I have been a patient since March 2026. I have yet to be seen by the actual psychiatrist. Only 1 in person appointment with Josh. (Not a doctor). The rest have been tele-health with Josh or a female nurse. And Josh is short with me and not helpful for me. After speaking with Josh or the one other female nurse practitioner ( tele-health), my ADHD prescription does not reach the pharmacy for maybe 2 weeks. This is the worse place to go if you care about your mental health. In the beginning everything was great my Dr had me on medication that was working for me but after having her for almost 2 years. On my next appointment a new face popup, not a doctor but a nurse practitioner, I have not met with a doctor since.The very first thing she does is change my medication, but you’re not a doctor so explain to me how you can adjust it. The Doctor is amazing, but his staff are the worst. They are either extremely incompetent, lazy, or they just don’t care about the patients. I can’t get anyone to call me back. EVER! The person responsible for calling in important prescriptions either doesn’t call them in at all, or screws it up. I haven’t had a successful office visit yet, where they haven’t messed something up. I am dependent on these people to help my son. And all it does it cause me stress! Do not go here if you have any other options.
I am leaving this review for both the Vestavia and Pelham locations, as I have been a patient across both for the past two years. If you are considering this practice for mental health care, please read this carefully. I started with River Region Psychiatry in Vestavia (now Ally Psychiatry). While my initial experience wasn’t great—my provider was cold and lacked empathy—it was tolerable as I was new to mental health treatment and trying to trust the process. Tabitha Tilley is super nice and understanding, spoke with Deanna and she called back extremely quick after leaving a message in the portal, I would highly recommend using the portal for questions, Deanna was awesome!
