Terrible customer service. Had them fill my tank in May and payed a predetermined amount. Filled a few days after request. Did not leave a receipt after filling. Now, late July , I receive a call from them telling me that I have a balance of $159. Asked why, they said it was for tank rental. I own my tank and was confirmed at order time. Where do I begin with this company (AmeriGas). There’s so much to say, and none of it is positive. I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the abysmal service, gross incompetence, and fraudulent billing practices we have experienced with AmeriGas. My wife and I were left without service in our home for five full days while waiting for return phone calls that never came. This is such an awful company. NEVER do business with them. Customer Service is almost impossible to reach. You may get your gas delivery; you may not. What's for sure is you will get your delivery on their schedule, not on yours. Their contract lists a clause saying that by your acceptance of their gas, they have total control over your property while their tank sits there including fees for installation and SUBSTANTIAL FEES for disconnect. DO NOT CONSIDER THIS COMPANY, absolutely worthless. I feel like a prisoner to this company. Purchased a home with an Amerigas Tank and now paying $135 yearly rental. This tank has been at this home for 20 plus years to my knowledge. The Amerigas delivery person said he will not fill tank, too old and dangerous. Okay, replace it but told by customer services we have no tanks and manager will call you. Told this 2 or 3 times, NO CALLS from anyone. my advice: DECEPTIVE – stay away because in the end, you will not save any money here. this is a large company that has progressively bought out smaller suppliers across the US. Unfortunately its business model, as evidenced from these many reviews and two of my own experiences (one in Philadelphia and one in another state) appears to focus on low price initial marketing that is quickly either switched or dwarfed by many add-on costs.
