First time customer. Had a delivery appointment. Never showed,never called. Had to call myself to find out the issue. Amerigas made another delivery appointment. Showed on the last day. If driver hadn't shown, I would have run out. The propane runs my furnace, hot water, dryer and stove.
Amerigas showed up and filled my tanks while I was at work. Get a call from my wife that the furnace stopped blowing hot air shortly after the delivery. Ran the traditional diagnostics. Had her start and restart the furnace still didn’t work. Called AmeriGas customer service since I suspected it was due to a delivery issue. Customer service told me I had to wait 3 days to hear back….. it was 12 degrees outside. Difficult to understand customer service agents. Pre-buy order was messed up as a result. Also not pleased that the company changed their policy by significantly increasing the amount of gallons I need to purchase every year in order to not get charged a tank fee for my 1000 gallon underground tank.
My experience with AmeriGas doesn't deserve a single star. Our business has ran out of propane 3 times in 1 calendar year, running 9 tanks all on automatic delivery with a propane level monitor on the top. When you call with nearly 10% propane left (which they should have already been filled by 20% remaining), you get passed around from dispatcher to dispatcher and they can barely pull up your account number that you've had for 4+ years. My wife and I were very frustrated last year when we ran out of propane even though we were on automatic delivery. The driver was very patient and listened to us when they finally did arrive a week later, and he told us the company was striving to be better at customer service. He was right. So far this year we have had timely deliveries and no issues. We almost switched providers and I'm glad we stuck it out.
