I had an appointment scheduled with AmeriGas on July 7th for a technician to come out and give me an estimate on adding a gas line for my gas grill. I waited at the property the entire day, and nobody ever showed up. I never received a phone call, text, email, or any kind of notice from AmeriGas saying the technician was not coming or that the appointment needed to be rescheduled. We usually don't post negative reviews, but in this case people need to know. Other than the local drivers this is the worst company for customer service, service in general, friendliness, etc. This is just one example, they put a new meter on our tank without informing us. Even though the new meter was monitored by satellite, we check the meter periodically and while the meter showed 50% in the tank, the tank was actually empty. This happened during the winter time and they wanted to charge a $300 fee to expedite the refill... read more
I would not recommend this company to anyone! Ordered 150 gallons and was assured with two different phone calls that they would only fill the tank with what I ordered, but when delivered they filled the tank up with much more. When I called, they agreed to adjust the bill and we agreed upon the adjusted amount, but when I received the adjusted bill it was for much more than agreed upon. Do not recommend AmeriGas. Choose someone local because AmeriGas has terrible customer service. So after being charge extra to use a credit card. Waiting on hold for 2 and 1/2 hours to have no one answer the phone. Messages sent to the website for AmeriGas I never answered. Driving out to Murphy local to try to speak to a person and schedule they take pickup( turns out it's not open to the public) I still have not been able to close my account or schedule them to remove the tank. We have used Amerigas for 4 years and I wish they had better customer service. We had a weird smell after they filled our tank and we got worried it was a leak. My husband called and asked what their dispatch fee would be. The customer service rep said she couldn't tell what it would be until they came out which was strange to begin with. Amerigas sent out 2 people who were nice enough, spent 5-10 minutes at the house to say it wasn't propane but the oven burning paint fumes from the garage.
