I was a loyal American customer for more than 20 years. Recently I was forced to move due to a disability. I had a balance in my account. When I shut down my billing a refund was owed. That was May 16, 2026. I received the refund by mail on June 30, 2026. In the meantime Amerigas charged me $150 fee for early termination of my "convenience" account. After 20+ years????? I have reached out to the new owner of my house. I suggested they change companies as Amerigas is no longer the company it once was.

Horrible experience with these guys. Not only did customer service hang up on me mid conversation after being extremely rude and unhelpful. After I (luckily dodged a bullet and signed with another company), they did not come to get the tank until I Threatened to just have it removed from my property. And when they finally came to get it, they did not notify me at all even though I specifically asked them to notify of when they would be picking it up so that I could plan accordingly and be there. AmeriGas purchased the company we used to use. We were renting a tank from them. When we tried to have AmeriGas fill our tank, they said we didn't have an account. Then they started charging us a rental fee for the tank. We couldn't get propane from them, so we told them to come pick up the tank. They said they'd waive the tank pick-up fee. They did not. For every bad review, an account with only 1 review given, (Amerigas) will give them 5 stars to counter it. Deceptive even in this part. Read all the reviews and save yourself the grief, and take your business elsewhere. This company is criminal and should be held accountable. We're actually looking into it.
