I had my air conditioning replaced in my house by Amtek & I'm happy with their services. Even though we had a few issues the owner made sure they corrected everything. I would highly recommend Amtek to anyone that needs advice on their air conditioning

Complaint
Provided false information regarding a leak and said unit could not be leak tested and could only be fixed by replacing the coils.
11/12/13 Invoice # **** Technician ****** indicated to cure the problem, it couldn't be leak tested but rather the coils needed replacement for $975. I then called the company that had installed the unit 3 years ago and they did a thorough leak check and found no leak but installed a leak sealer in case there could have been an undetectable minute leak. $294
Desired Settlement
Refund the amount of extraordinary expense incurred because of the faulty diagnosis. $294.00
Business Response
Amtek Air Conditioning arrived to customers house to perform tune up on Mr. ******'s A/C system. Upon arrival our technician found customer's unit low on refrigerant and made a recommendation to fix problem. Customer was fully aware of the refrigerant leak and had our technician put in the free pound of refrigerant that comes with the tune up. All A/C systems are hermetically sealed systems and should NEVER show lower than manufacture pressure specs. If system is lower than manufacture specs that indicates some type of leak in the system. Mr. ****** obviously was aware and addressed the issue with a stop leak product that he paid another company to perform. Here at Amtek we recommend fully correcting the problem with "in this case" warrantying the defective part, not just putting a band aid on the problem with stop leak. And we are certainly not going to pay for a customers half way rigged repair when it should have been a warranty repair. Thanks

My parents are elderly so it was a major concern when our heating stopped working. Fortunately Amtek sent an engineer round that same day and by evening we were all warm and cosy again.

I was at my wits end when the refrigerator in my restaurant began to misbehave and started to freeze the entire contents. The guys from Amtek were incredibly helpful and efficient, managing to get a spare part that same day and fixing the problem and my restaurant's reputation!

Complaint
Amtek's visit was to check up a/c system. Released coolant,afterward not cooling properly.Refused to correct without additional charge.
Amtek called me, offering an a/c tune-up for $49, so I accepted. We had not had our system looked at for several years, and it was operating fine, but I knew that periodic maintenance was a good idea. The Amtek tech came, diagnosed some potential problems with the condenser coils and squirted off the outside unit with water. He also told me that we had too much coolant in the system, and he let some out. This was Friday, August 16, 2013. By Sunday, we noticed that the system was not cooling properly, not getting to and maintaining the temperature the thermostat was set on. I called Amtek on Monday, August 19, 2013 to report this problem, and to ask them to correct it, since this did NOT occur BEFORE their visit. I was told at the time that any service call would cost me $95.00, and they did not acknowledge that their service may have caused the problem. I feel that we should not have to pay to correct a problem that was caused by their tech's actions, since our a/c system was cooling properly before his visit.
Desired Settlement
Amtek should come out and fix whatever they broke without additional charges.

Issue has been resolved,Amtek did send another tech to customers house for a follow up check and corrected problem.
