I was in the Mercy Health ER in the late afternoon with acute respiratory distress and asked them to call Dr. Kleaveland to consult about a possible pneumonia. He immediately came to the hospital, reviewed all the diagnostic information and then took charge of my care. Probably saved my life by wrapping his arms around all the information. And, he made the information clear and understandable...and followed through on everything he said needed to be done.
My 90 year old father went to see Dr. Kleaveland for his Pulmonary Fibrosis. He asked Dr K. if any new treatments were available. Dr. K responded by asking him why would he want to live any longer at his age. He told him there was no medications or treatments that would help. My dad said he was a real jerk. We had to call his office because dad's breathing was really bad.
