I would give zero stars if I could. We took our dog here after he began to seize. This was not his first seizure nor was it his worst. Our normal vet was closed, so we took him to this vet. The nurses were great. They took him back immediately. After waiting for about an hour, Justin Plunk comes in to say our dog was having minor tremors but wanted to hospitalize him anyway. I have used animal emergency and surgery center a few times in the past and have been okay with the service that was provided, however this past Monday my dog somehow lost the tip of her ear and it was gushing blood, my vet told me to take her in immediately as it was after hours. It was pretty busy we checked in and they said they didn’t have a room and would take her. They care more about money than pets and family.
Sadly I can’t give less than 1 Star. My husband brought in our severely injured SMALL dog. Since we couldn’t pay up front, he had to sign him over. They refused to let my husband comfort him and he was muzzled. Our poor old dude had to be put down in misery, all alone. Funny that this place’s ‘motto’ is we never stop caring, or something equally false. Nice job guys. My 5 year old will be okay, too. Thanks for the lack of compassion you so easily could’ve provided.
My in-laws had to bring their dog (who sees a vet regularly) to Animal Emergency & Surgery Monday around 11pm for breathing complications. She has a heart condition that her regular vet is treating but this was a concerning issue in the middle of the night that they needed to get her emergency attention. They were told the ONLY thing that could be done was to hold her for a few DAYS with an IV of Lasiks which would cost an arm and a leg and only give her a little longer to live, take her home as is or to put her down. Most people don't wake up and anticipate taking your pet to the animal emergency room you post out there that you accept checks but then when I try to write a check for my dog's care I obviously can't get any care for my dog because you don't accept business checks but you don't have that posted that's fine because I found a most awesome emergency room on the North side that was happy to take my business check for the care of my dog so you wasted our time and you wasted our $75 for some information that we already knew.
