I had to drive 2+ hours from Jackson, MS to Hattiesburg to Animal Medical Center on April 29, 2024 for emergency surgery. My Golden Retriever, Max, was bleeding into a splenic mass and was anemic. He was 11-12 years old. I am a physician, an anesthesiologist for over 40 years, so I understood the gravity of the situation. We went on a weekend trip and needed a last minute kennel for our golden retriever, Lola. Even though we've used AMC for everything since we brought Lola into our family as an 8 wk old puppy, we were a little anxious with it being her first time away from us and her home overnight. This is the best vet clinic in Hattiesburg! They really take care of my doodle and treat him literally like their own. Big shout out to Dr Crawford for taking such good care of my puppy dog!
Our dog was having some serious mobility issues where we needed to bring him to an emergency vet near our home, where he received X-rays and an uncertain diagnosis from the vet there. To find out what was wrong we needed to have a CT scan done, which around our home there is only two places to have that done and neither of them could get to us anytime soon so we began looking for places further away and I am so glad that we found Animal Medical Center in Hattiesburg. This review might be entirely scatterbrained, sorry in advance. I live in Laurel and had to take my dog to the vet immediately, unfortunately all the clinics in Laurel are closed on the weekend. I ended up googling animal clinics in Hattiesburg that would be open Saturday morning, the Animal Medical Center was open and told me to bring her in whenever. I let my Jack Russell mix out for about 15 minutes on Friday (June 1). When came back in he couldn't walk, legs were giving out under him, his head was tilted to the side, and he had darting eye movement. He was walking around in circles and falling to the ground. I've been taking my Pekingese, Gus, here ever since we moved to Hattiesburg, and I haven't looked back once. I love that AMC is basically a one-stop-shop for everything Gus needs from vet care to boarding, to daycare, to grooming. The staff is always friendly and extremely helpful, and I always feel like Gus is truly cared for here. New in town, needed grooming and boarding for three days. Truly amazing customer service! Ms. Brenda Burch spoke to me about the grooming and the result is by far the best our dog has ever had. Our reception when we arrived to leave our pet cock-a-poo was professional, personal. Their communication with our home town veterinarian was quick and comprehensive.
