I just called the AOA advice line and Paul answered. I knew it was my lucky day, as in the past I have given him some really difficult or complex issues (at least for me.) and he calmly and efficiently gives me the roadmap with every detail to see my way through to success. He never has to say "let me get back to you" or "Ill need to research that". He is up to date on everything regarding real estate. I will say they have come in handy at times when I’ve had a question. I’m not sure how legal their advisors are, but I know for a fact, I have gotten information from the advisor that have turned out to be incorrect, so I was definitely not happy about that and I will leave another note on here. AOA is an invaluable resource for anyone needing to deal with landlord / tenant / contract issues in the environment of California / Los Angeles regulations relating to rentals. The resources made available to members of forms, webinars etc are exhaustive and relevant for those needing access to this knowledge without being a lawyer on these issues.
Thank you AOA and particulalry to Paul for his sagely advice today, including providing concise advice and specific options to resolve a property issue. I've been a member for many years and always appreciate the AOA and all facets provided. From answering the phone prompty (a real person!) to running credit checks to Paul et al, you're the best!
My experience with AOA has been very positive. Ultimately, you get back much more than you invest. Originally, like many, I was too cheap to spend the membership fee to join. Why should I pay for stuff I already know? Hence, I delayed joining, giving myself excuses to justify my action. However, once I joined, I discovered my flawed thinking. AOA membership is one of those things that gives you the knowledge to make better decisions. Pays big over the long haul. One of the better investments I've made in life. KTL
