My mom joined the assisted living community at Arbor Terrace recently. She was very, very opposed to moving. The staff at Arbor Terrace made a difficult transition as smooth as it possibly could have been. When my mom arrived, a literal red carpet was out for her, with velvet ropes, a welcome sign, and a big group of staff members with smiles and hugs! My mom’s reluctance evaporated instantly. The care my mom receives at Arbor Terrace in Acworth (Memory Care side) is beyond what I ever expected. I feel that they truly love her and she loves them. The staff have become our extended family. The memory care director, Sharon Durr is exceptional. I can’t say enough. We love them!!
We just moved my mom into memory care, and everyone on staff at Arbor Terrace from Missy who showed us around when we toured, to Ashley who helped wrangle all the paper work from various doctors, to Sharon who walked me through how best to help Mom adjust, made it so much easier to step back and hand over the reigns to folks who I trust will be better trained and prepared to help Mom as her dementia progresses.
