Dear Management Team, I am writing to report an incident that occurred at your Newcastle Byker location. ON THE 7TH OF JANUARY 2026, I HAD A DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE AT ASDA. AFTER PURCHASING A FEW ITEMS AND PAYING FOR THEM AT THE CHECKOUT, I WAS STOPPED BY THE SECURITY GUARD AS I WAS LEAVING. DESPITE HAVING A VALID RECEIPT AND THE PAYMENT GOING THROUGH WITHOUT ANY ISSUES, THE SECURITY GUARD ACCUSED ME OF A DECLINED PAYMENT. Well done ASDA just been up to this store tonight, to get some tobacco for my partner. Only to find out the tobacco chaos is closed due to staffing levels. After waiting a while to be informed by your security guard but there is no staff to operate this counter. It would be nice if it customer service manager could get in contact with me to rectify this complaint I think it is pretty poor service when there is not enough stuff to operate a counter. Arrived at 1.15pm for Over 60’s soup and hot drink deal for £1.00. Only to discover they had ran out of soup!!! At lunchtime….. so we decided to just have a hot drink. They then Charged us £1.75 for a cup of tea. Apparently the manager told the staff they couldn’t sell a hot drink for a £1.00 to over 60’s, on its own as that’s not the deal… however read on the website that over 60’s are entitled to 10% discount in the cafe, which we were not offered. What a rip off.
A good shoping place... Good bargains and asda deals. Discountes and short dates food and accessories always worth a look.. Good selection of fruit and veg.. Today I got some cut price battered haddock to cook at home.. 60percent off the original price... 1.29£
