I would like to lodge a formal complaint about Atlas Fence Company. My husband has dealt with this company in the past and thought they were quite good. He called them last week to look at an iron driveway gate that seemed to be malfunctioning. It turns out that all it was, was a tripped GFI switch. Unfortunately the Atlas guy "JIM" charged us $260 for a service call and an additional $24 for a service fee. He was there for all of 5 minutes and he only lives a few blocks away. We have been doing business with the these people since 2004. As with all customers, we are up front about the gate operator service fee. I am not sure who "Jim" is, we have no one here by that name. Our fee for a service call on a residential gate operator is $260.00 which includes 1 hour of labor. So, it doesn't matter whether it takes a technician 5 minutes or 55 minutes, the fee remains the same.
