I am over The moon happy with my indoor Versa lift that was installed in November 2024 by a father-son team of contractors here in Vermont. They converted a two closet area to one bigger closet and installed it so that I could use it to lower and raise things from my basement level. I use it almost every day for laundry, tubs of seasonal home decor, and hobbies that are heavy such as sewing machines. I have 2 guest rooms in the basement and the what is great for transporting luggage?
My son and I installed the attic lift in several days without issues. My attic has 12 inch floor joist but the installation hardware is designed for 8 inch joists so it was necessary to notch out for proper fit. I could have bought longer bolts instead. The electric mechanism is flawless and the stairs are sturdier than any I have ever used. I am very happy with the Versa lift.
The lift has made it so much easier to access the storage area in our attic. Before we'd have to lug everything up the stairs. Now it's so much easier for me and my wife to place items on the lift, press the button and it's up in the attic for us. The installation was easier than I thought it would be too with the step-by-step instructions provided with the unit.
Every attic should have one of these. Much safer then carrying items up the stairs that are narrow and steep. I had to add cross braces to make it sturdier and keep items from falling off that are longer and require the top brace to be removed, and I use bungee cords to secure lighter items, as they are hoisted upstairs. A non slip floor would also be a design improvement.
Versalift was one of the best decisions we made during our new home construction. We designed our home with a storage area above our garage. Having Versalift gave us the ability to move items to storage without having to climb a 12ft ladder with items in our hands. Living in a coastal area, Versalift also provided us with the option of moving items up away from possible water damage during hurricane season. Highly recommended!
