I bought a love seat and noticed that after delivery it had a tear between the back and the arm. I notified Bernie & Phyl's immediately and requested another loveseat be placed and to take this one back. However, I was told a rep would come out to review the tear. Once the rep was here he said a kit would be sent out and to call them back again so they could fix the tear...this way their policy! We bought a reclining couch faux leather, April, 2014, we purchased insurance protection plan, in November of 2018, I noticed a slit on one of the headrests that started peeling, I sent pictures to customer service, and a gentleman from the store came to look at it. He said “unfortunately our policy doesn’t cover hair and skin oils causing the damage”. I said we were never told this by salesperson and never received a policy stating this.! The protection plan is posted on their website and it says it covers all of what I'm claiming.The table top got damaged with scratches and some of the stain came off of it and the chairs are all loose at the joints.I called at the beginning of April this year 2019 to file a claim with customer care for a technician to come to my home and inspect the damages. Additionally under "What this plan does not cover" #1 states that "accumulation of stains, scratches or other damage" is not covered. Purchased new furniture less than 1 1/2 years ago. It's been 5 months now since contacting them about a recliner falling apart. Our first request we were told nothing is covered even though it was still within the manufacturer's warranty period and we also purchased the 5 year extended warranty. Called back and a tech was scheduled to come out. He comes out and says the furniture leaves the store that way. He then proceeds to bend the recliner to try and make it look better. It got worse and he was supposed to send pictures ... read more

A credit in the full amount of the sectional was authorized for the customer. The ************ ** ************* does not issue refunds on sales tax beyond 90 days. Taxes are payable to the ************and not to Bernie & Phyls. The customer did make a new selection in an amount greater than the amount of the original merchandise. The customer is responsible for the difference.
