My wife and I purchased a ********* ********** *** *****dining set and a three piece living room set in 2014. We purchased protection plans for all pieces. The protection plan is posted on their website and it says it covers all of what I'm claiming. The table top got damaged with scratches and some of the stain came off of it and the chairs are all loose at the joints.I called at the beginning of April this year 2019 to file a claim with customer care for a technician to come to my home and inspect the damages. He came on Fr... read more
Business response:
The protection plan does state all damage needs to be reported within 5 days. Additionally under "What this plan does not cover" #1 states that "accumulation of stains, scratches or other damage" is not covered. Here is a link to that protection plan: ******************************************************************************************
Purchased new furniture less than 1 1/2 years ago. It's been 5 months now since contacting them about a recliner falling apart. Our first request we were told nothing is covered even though it was still within the manufacturer's warranty period and we also purchased the 5 year extended warranty. Called back and a tech was scheduled to come out. He comes out and says the furniture leaves the store that way. He then proceeds to bend the recliner to try and make it look better. It got worse and he was supposed to send pictures ... read more
Business response:
A credit in the full amount of the sectional was authorized for the customer. The ************ ** ************* does not issue refunds on sales tax beyond 90 days. Taxes are payable to the ************and not to Bernie & Phyls. The customer did make a new selection in an amount greater than the amount of the original merchandise. The customer is responsible for the difference.

Horrible. I have a recliner with a busted frame (beyond repair) and they are telling me the cat scratches void the warranty. I wasn't looking to have material repaired. So I guess in their opinion my cats scratched so hard the frame broke. They will find anyway to rip you off, from selling bad furniture to finding crafty ways to not honor warranty's.
Business response:
Repair was offered under the service warranty, customer did not want repaired. The customer wanted it replaced. The warranty is a repair warranty not a replacement warranty, and the excessive pet damage would void any option to return for any reason.

I purchased a leather couch, dining room table with matching chairs, and a rug from this establishment, along with a 5 year extended warranty with the promise that items could be replaced for any defects or damage. Less than 2 years later, the rug unraveled, the wood on the chair split, the dining table peeled, and the couch ripped and USB port never worked. Please note that we have taken immaculate care of our products and had the table covered at all times. Bernie & Phyls sells you the warranty with the promise that you ar... read more
Business response:
The warranty is for accidental damage and does not cover accumulation of damage. The warranty does specifiy that any damage needs to be reported within 5 days, again accumulation (or a build up of multiple damages) is not covered by the warranty. The technician did find multiple accumulation of damages. We have submitted for a refund of the warranty.
Hi, I am writing to share my experience and eventually file a claim if it is not resolved fairly. First the couch was ripped by the delivery company forcing it through the door. Since it was my second home and not very fancy I wasn't as particular and I agreed to having Bernie and Phyl's come and SEW the rip. It is still visible. but even then I was willing to settle and be happy. Never once did they offer an apology or anything.. Then last year (mid 2018) we noticed the couch was rusting on the bed frame of the sofa bed and... read more

Bernie & Phyls' furniture protection is a complete scam and the service person they send (despite being very nice) is a front. As soon you call to report a stain, they list a million reasons why they can't cover it even though the policy clearly states otherwise. I purchased a five-year protection plan that covers pet bodily fluids. First it was "it only covers one year". When I read the policy back to them they changed their tune. Then I was accused of letting the stains accumulate even though I reported it within the five ... read more

The customer called in stains from their cat. We set up for a technician to go out. The technician is equipped for spot removal, not an all over cleaning. The warranty is for accidental stains and does not cover accumulation of stains. The technician found large stains on 2 of 3 of the back cushions and both arms of the sofa, the back cushion and the arm of the chair. Unfortunately, the set is in need of an overall cleaning, which our technicians are not equipped for. Accumulation of stains is specifically listed on the warr... read more
