Guada lupe was wonderful! The entire staff at Black Bear is courteous, professional, and provides great service. The restaurant is always clean and organized. It is always a pleasure to dine here.

Tradition for my husband Mike's birthday is to go to the Black Bear Diner for the best chicken fried steak. This year was really disappointing. What made it my husband's favorite in the past was (1) the way the chicken fried steak was cooked with a crispy pan-fried coating; (2) served with a generous helping of mashed potatoes and gravy; and (3) included with the meal a large cornbread muffin. On Friday. December 21st, I stopped by the Grants Pass store to pick up bear claws to go. This has become a right-of-entry when visiting my family. When we ate them, we were a little disappointed. Although they were GOOD, they weren't GREAT as they usually are. The almond paste was more of an almond syrup and the taste and texture was compromised as a result.
