This Black Bear restaurant on State Street is so much fun to visit due to a fabulous server named Key. She is knowledgeable about the menu, extremely hard working, yet funny and sassy which makes the entire dining experience that much more enjoyable. I always request to be placed in her section because I know I will have excellent service and a smile on my face while there.

Excellent food and service. Always friendly servers with portions big enough to split. Close by and easy access. Nice atmosphere.

The place was almost empty. Which was odd. I know they had been closed for a while so maybe people just don't know it had reopened. The food we had was better than most other Black Bears. Service was also above average. I just wish we lived closer to it. We'd go there very often if is was.

I am only giving this restaurant a 4-Star revue because they did make a serious mistake. Pros: My husband & I were greeted with a friendly, courteous hostess. The waitress was also friendly & courteous, & quick to take our order. The food arrived in a short time & hot (a big plus for this restaurant since it used to arrive more on the warm-not-hot side).
