I am only giving this restaurant a 4-Star revue because they did make a serious mistake. Pros: My husband & I were greeted with a friendly, courteous hostess. The waitress was also friendly & courteous, & quick to take our order. The food arrived in a short time & hot (a big plus for this restaurant since it used to arrive more on the warm-not-hot side). My wife and I had breakfast there this morning and had a fantastic breakfast with outstanding service thanks to Carrie Ann. She made us feel at home. the portions were so large that we took half of it home for breakfast tomorrow! Much appreciated! Will definitely ask for Carrie Ann next time we stop by.

I ate at Black Bear diner 3 or 4 times during my stay in Boise. Generally I ordered takeout however, I did eat there once. The staff were friendly and I tried a few of the burgers they had and the chicken parm as well as the milk shakes they have. Overall I would say the food was slightly above average. Prices were good. I ate there a lot because of proximity to the hotel and how easy it was for me to get takeout after I got back from work.
