In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Saturday mornings at the counter have become a weekly outing with my friend. Leslie and Malinda are the best employees! They always make it fun. When someone remembers what you like and/or asks you about your life, it makes the dining experience that much more memorable. We all move at such a fast pace these days. It’s really refreshing that these two ladies take a moment to slow it down and show they care!
