If you want the formulaic fare of chain brunch-spots, look elsewhere. If you want great food & service with an interesting 'bear-motif,' then eat here. My Meat-Lovers Omelette was fantastic. Served w grits & toast, it was just enough to satisfy without bloating! My wife loved her Pancake Breakfast! Plenty of parking, quick service, and a well conceived decor/theme. We like it!

Nobody could ever complain about small serving sizes. This was the biggest chicken fried steak I've seen. It came with three fried eggs, hashbrowns, and two huge biscuits. I immediately had to put half of it in a to-go container. I didn't know this was a chain restaurant - but it was good. Service was really quick, but not much followup after the meal was delivered.

Black Bear Diner is a family restaurant with country/woodsy decor. We went on a Friday for an early lunch. The restaurant was short-staffed, so it took a while for us to order. Our waitress was super friendly even as she ran around to her tables with the constant flow of patrons. Once we ordered, the food took a decent amount of time to come out. There were all day breakfast options and some only after 2pm options. I ordered a taco salad, which was HUGE!!! I didn't finish it and gave half of it away.

Stopped here for a Sunday morning breakfast before heading out of town and was not disappointed. Basically a classic diner ambience with great menu items and excellent service. Breakfast options were abundant. The pancakes and the homemade bear claw with blackberry filling was the best and of course the coffee was perfect!
