It being the first time to Black Bear Diner I had pretty high expectations which were pretty well met. Enjoyed the huge fluffy pancakes, yummy waffle, the only disappointment was the western bacon burger appeared be smaller in portion size then I had expected and relatively small amount of coleslaw. I think next time will order the fries. Service is excellent overall and loved, the piping hot coffee always filled to the brim without needing to ask. Why didn’t the Fremont, CA location have real butter? The Black Bear that I frequent in Fernley NV does.
So sad came to dine here thought was going to be a good experience but to my surprise not at all... all their reviews are created because nothing that it said on the reviews is true...cold california Ouellette, pancake hard and cold no manager on site. Seever to busy talking to each other.. beyond pathetic.
It is by far the WORST restaurant of this chain.. they have a oriental waitress talking bad with a nother server with a tennys cap.. talking bad about their own co-workers and making fun of them.. food cold and nazt. Bathroom clogged smells the wgole restaurant TO HEATL OFFICIAL HOW YOU HAVE A JOINT OPEN LIKE THIS... YOU CAN GET SICK

I been to many of black bear dine, and today i was near the fremont store. Please let me tell you by far is the WORSTED FOOD, FOOD COLD PANCAKE HARD AND ASIAN SERVER THE WORSTED TO COSTUMER SERVICE NO MANAGER ON SITE. I ASK FOR THE MANAGER AND THEY TOLD SHE WAS AT THE STORE... PLEASE PEOPLE AVOID THIS DINER
I ordered the open faced turkey sandwich which was supposed to be served with stuffing. It arrived without stuffing, so I asked about it. The server went to check and when she returned informed me apologetically that they were out of stuffing. She asked would I like a salad or something else instead. I said no. The thing is why didn't someone tell me prior to bring it out so I could decide if I still wanted it? They sent it out from the kitchen hoping I wouldn't notice. Really miss the broccoli. The seasonal vegetables, mostly peppers, are greasy and unpleasant.
