In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Atmosphere: cute place, very cozy and cute, their menus are super cute newspapers. Food: the chicken fried steak was good, it wasn't amazing but for the price we paid and the amount of food we got, I would say it was worth the price. Service was awesome and Toni was very sweet.

Came in late this evening (45 mins before closing), and was sat down and served by Donque. He was phenomenal! He has such a wonderful personality, we observed him work extremely hard- honestly he was the only person on the floor that was working. He was attentive, thorough and determined to make this experience pleasant. I highly recommend asking for him when you come in to eat here!
