In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. This place is fantastic! Like a well oiled machine. The food is appealing and tasty! I can't say enough about it. You would...no SHOULD try them for yourself. You won't regret it.

Had a little wait to be seated, but not to big a deal considering the day and amount of business. Took some time for our server to get a drink order, but that may have something to do with the day. Not happy that a party seated after us was served before us. I like the decor. Black bear has maintained consistency through all of its locations. Food is great. Especially the pancakes and chicken fried steak. Overall 4.5 stars.

This diner is absolutely fabulous. The food was great, and our waitress Michaela went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. She was so charming and bubbly. We loved the gift shop and even bought bear slippers! It was our first time it will not be our last.

Wow! Our group of four went to breakfast today Black Bear Diner in Pasadena, and we are still raving about the food and the service. We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything tasted great. I want to give a special shout-out to our server, Michelle. I'm a very picky eater about breakfast food. Michelle listened to me and suggested a combination of items that were perfect for me. She was knowledgeable, helpful and fun! I recommend this restaurant and Michelle highly. You won't be sorry!
