In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Wow! Our group of four went to breakfast today Black Bear Diner in Pasadena, and we are still raving about the food and the service. We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything tasted great. I want to give a special shout-out to our server, Michelle. I'm a very picky eater about breakfast food. Michelle listened to me and suggested a combination of items that were perfect for me. She was knowledgeable, helpful and fun! I recommend this restaurant and Michelle highly. You won't be sorry!

I have been reading the reviews for this place for awhile so I decided to try it out. Reminds me of a the Great Wolf Lodge restaurants at the resorts. Nice, and clean even though they didn't pick up dirty dishes quickly after the guests leave. The food was good,, it took a little bit and they weren't busy but for the most part I didn't have anything else to do this day. The chicken noodle soup needed flavor but a little salt and pepper did the trick. The burger was huge, the tri tip had a wonderful taste but I was disappoi... read more

For mid-morning on a Saturday the wait was minimal. Food came out quick and was delicious! I always ask for crispy bacon and that is what I received. How they made the thick sliced bacon perfectly crispy is a miracle. Our server was a sweet gal named Jen! She was an absolute pro! Great experience and will return again soon. BTW... we drove from Pearland to check this place out!
