In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. We ate here this afternoon. We both ordered The Grizz. Our food was perfect. Our server Zenaida was very attentive to whatever we needed. She came around and checked on us, refilled our Pepsi without asking, she was extremely pleasant. Thanks for hiring great servers and cooking great food. We loved the pancakes!

We will NEVER go to Kelly's again. We have found a much much better place to dine. Food is delicious and large servings. Service was a little slow but was because it was busy. Atmosphere was nice with the country decor. Open concept made it a little loud but bearable. We will return!

Bacon cheddar burger for lunch and it was delicious. May not look like much but it has an all beef thick pattie . The fries were good but I think they needed to be deep fried just a little longer. The meal is fulfilling I'd definitely would order it again . Friendly staff as always here and clean restaurant.

The food here was sooo good, the service was great. We didn't wait long to be seated, and everything is bear themed which is very nice. The decor was comforting, and it felt like I was in Colorado. Everything was perfect!
