my youngest boy just turned 17 years old. me and my wife took him out to black bear diner. our boy chose to go to this restaurant over 2 other in porterville ca. Before we were helped to our table I let the gentlemen know that it was our son birthday. They sung him a happy birthday song in there own way. The service was awesome so was the food. I've been to 2 other black bear diners this was the best service. Thanks to the staff.

family friendly, many locations
I LOVE BLACK BEAR DINER !!!! The food is always great !!! We try to eat where ever there is one, I just wish we had one in SAN DIEGO COUNTY!!! Anywhere in SAN DIEGO COUNTY !! We travel a lot so we are able to find one but it would be so much better to find one closer to us as we live in SAN DIEGO. Did I mention the FOOD IS ALWAYS GREAT !! Big portions ... perfect !!

Love the food, could improve their timeliness but otherwise service is great! I always take a box home because the portions are huge!

I went there with my wife for my birthday supper. They always provide huge portions, but I can usually finish, I'm a big eater, but I couldn't finish my meal last night. 10 oz. cheeseburger with applewood smoked bacon and sweet potato fries. Since it was my birthday, they brought me coconut cream pie for dessert with a candle in it, and sang to me at my table. They are always so friendly and inviting. Thank you Black Bear staff!
We celebrated my husband's Birthday yesterday evening and we had a great meal and the service was outstanding! Enjoyed all sorts of music playing from the jukebox! Highly recommend Black Bear; it's "our place".
