The steaks were all well done! The baker was great. The waitress Crystal was a jewel. Very good waitress. Cook needs cooking classes. Sunday.
Took 30-40 minutes to get a drink order in, another 30 minutes for food service, then got our food before our drinks and salads after dinner. We used to LOVE black bear on laurel, but moving has done something... we didn’t even get the correct portion of food on 2 plates, so when the waitress realized it when we asked, they brought it on a tiny plate and it was cold, over cooked, tri tip... never got the waters we asked for either... I didn’t ask for reimbursement on anything but something should have been offered...

If the owners don't get another manager and better cook, the restaurant will not last. We have been going to Blackbear for several years and always bragged about the food and the service and the portions. Told anyone that would listen that the prices were well worth the food. But, we will not go back. The last 3 or 4 times that we have gone, the food has been horrible and when you address the issue with the manager, she gets attitude. RecommendedStarting up at new location, took us 45 minutes to get our food. while other tables around us received their food, seems breakfast meals were arriving way before lunch meals.
It’s not the same black bear it used to be. Food is okay, but the service was horrible and it wasn’t even busy. I felt rushed the entire visit to hurry up and leave. I will definitely go to black bear again just not the Salinas location.

Servers were very friendly .. It took almost 30 min to get our food and when we did , there was a hair on my plate .. not too happy about that .
