I’ve been coming to Black Bear Diner for great nostalgic diner experiences. Food is fresh and tasty with large portion sizes prepared in an open kitchen. I’ve always favored the large chicken fried steak ($17) but the pesto salmon and fried fish and shrimp are solid options. Food is pretty standard diner fare (not fine dining) but does a very great job at that - affordable, southern home style dishes. The dining atmosphere is in a clean, open room with both traditional booth and table seating accompanied with bear themed d... read more

This place serves a delicious brunch. There's so many options to choose from, I make sure to pick out something new whenever I come in! This time, I got the California omlette (minus the mushrooms). It was delicious and filling. I also got a Blueberry lemonade to go, that was a sweet treat! Our server Catherine was attentive and kind. The other waitstaff were also very nice.

I recently move to Houston, and was looking for the best BLT in town. I can across this restaurant and was not disappointed. Not only was my meal immaculate to the tea, the service I received from my server Israel and staff was very pleasant. Israel made sure that I enjoyed my meal and took care of all my needs. When I typically go out getting a refill on my drink is a hassle but not at this establishment. I was so glad I didn’t see the buttom of my cup. Overall the food was a 9.7/10. I highly recommend the sweet potato and ... read more

since I pass this location coming and going to work I decided to call in a order to pick up on my way home today. Highly disappointed. Guessing they were short staffed this evening but the one server they had was very polite and attentive. My food was pretty bad. I ordered a omelette and the cook definitely did their own thing when it came to what I ordered and to top it off there was also a pool of grease under my omelette. Very disappointing to say the least. I thought I found a new spot but I’ll stick with the location cl... read more
