In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Great food and awesome servers
Great food. Nice portions. Friendly and attentive waitress, and prices are comparable to everywhere else. Nice breakfast atmosphere. Nice, naturally lit atmosphere. Nothing worse than a dark restaurant for breakfast, and Black Bear Diner is the opposite. We will definitely be returning

Our second time here was for the fish fry. Fish was mild white fish, with panko breading, which was crispy and thin (unlike a beer batter), and not greasy. Delicious. Coleslaw was creamy sweet-tart, totally yum. Our server was attentive and welcoming, with just the right touch of friendliness. The General Manager, Scott, is very visible, engages well and is a very gracious host.
