The food was good. The service was good, overall one of the best restaurants in Waco.

Saturday / Sunday back to back visits. Saturday order Chicken Fried Steak with white gravy sides mashed potato and green beans with a salad and muffin which was freshly made, and tasty. Server was highly engaged, she made sure to stand in front of me providing eye contact when communicating. Sunday order was the Meatloaf with brown gravy sides mashed potato and onion rings with salad and muffin. Breakfast was very good, coffee was good as well. Allie was a good waitress and was there when we needed her. However, Missy who was not our waitress, would always refill our water and coffee when she passed by. Missy is a very friendly and goes over and above to see that every patron is taken care along her path.

Stopped by on Sunday afternoon after select baseball tournament with my great niece, great great niece & great great nephew (who had been playing baseball) & said he wasn't hungry. We have eaten here numerous times & never really been disappointed--we even had Santa visit with us during the holidays in the past. This was our first time eating here and if I could give it more stars than 5 I would. This was the BEST breakfast I've ever eaten. The breakfast sausage was incredible. Every food item was delicious and perfect. The service was great and the restaurant was clean. Definitely coming back!

It's actually a really cool place. The menu is like an ole newspaper and has so many options. The waitress were friendly and us out a lot. They were also very quick with the food and came out fresh. The atmosphere was like a step back in time with a diner and a woodsy twist which was pretty cool.

Wow! Went here for the first time and it did not disappoint! Food was great and service was fast and friendly. I had the brisket hash which came with 2 eggs a huge biscuit and a side (which I didn't want). Price was a bit high but portion size was great! Inside was really cute and the story of Black Bear is on the outside of the menu. Love that they support a worthy cause.
