In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Not sure why this place has such a low rating. The service was great. Waitress was courteous. The food was hot and delicious. For them being short staffed they did a great job on a Saturday morning.

Food was good place was clean service was great. We arrived for dinner, not too busy but several tables and only one server, and she still had a smile. I felt so bad for her but she worked hard

Solid diner options as usual with Black Bear. I ordered a 2 egg combo with a biscuit and a side of gravy. My friends and I came here about an hour and a half before closing time so it the evening was quiet and winding down. Our waitress/hostess Helen was absolutely amazing. She was engaging, made us laugh, and was great company as she checked on us throughout our meal.

makes you full super fast, but the ice cream kinda tastes like cardboard. the service is pretty good, nice people but it takes awhile. not many good options for pickey eaters though.

Amazing, delicious breakfast. Fluffy pancake, good scrambled eggs, yummy sausage. I LOVE black bear diner, Ive been going here since i was very young. Always recommend.
