In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Food was good, disappointed in the Chicken Fried Steak. Frozen patty,, not freshly hand battered like in the Great State of Texas... however we will return.. thank you

Visiting Yuma for Jegos basketball games at Arizona Western College and stopped at Black Bear for supper before coming out. Great choice! We’ll be back next year.
