Peeved to pleased: A story of redemption
This was my first experience with the BMW of TC Service department, and I had heard really great things about it. My parents have been long-time customers, and Chris Pratt is a family friend.
I had been having issues for months with a used 2010 BMW 328i that I bought back in October since the day I first picked it up. I had taken it to an independent service shop in Ann Arbor, and after they replaced some coils, the problem persisted.
When I took the car to BMW of TC, I also had a TPMS issue, and an oil leak. After the boys in the Service Department dealt with it, and I got the car back, I was uber peeved to find that the TPMS light was still on (no one had mentioned that the RDS Module had to be reset), and my car was now making this odd squeaking sound that it had not been making before I brought it in. I tried to keep my cool, but I was kind of freaking out because 1700 bucks don't come easily to first year teachers, and the mechanic told me that ignorer to get the TPMS light to turn off, I would have to reset the RDS, which would set me back another $700 or so.
The boys took the car back in to the shop and sent me off in a loaner, and I have to admit that I cried a bit on the way home. I was disappointed that after all of the good things I had heard about BMW of TC, my car had a new issue, and the service department had neglected to tell me about the TPMS/RDS issue.
Anyway, the next day, I got a call from Cory, and he told me that they had fixed everything at no cost. FOR FREE! Cory told me that he felt bad about what had happened the day before, and that he does not like doing business that way. He even had the car delivered to me 15 miles out the Old Mission Peninsula.
I love that he took personal responsibility for the miscommunication between us about the TPMS, and that he made it right with no questions asked. I went from being quite put off, to feeling quite satisfied.
My car is now running great, and I no longer have to worry about the issues that were giving me head/heart aches in the past. Cory restored my image of y'all's reputation, and furthered my dreams of being a lifelong BMW owner.
Needless to say, I'll be back.
