I was so blessed to get an appointment within 24 hours. The lactation consultant who I saw was very thorough and understanding. She took time to discuss my history and observe my technique. She offered encouraging affirmation and helpful feedback. She then took time to discuss things with the pediatrician and together they created a personalized plan for me. I am so grateful for the support that the Breastfeeding Center offers!
Took calling 3 times over 3 days to get someone on the phone at all. Also be advised that if your child is over 3 months and you are not established with them, they will not see you. Disappointed as I just moved across state lines and now I guess will need to find help elsewhere.
Our breastfeeding journey has been a challenging one. I am certain that without the support of the Breastfeeding Center, we would have given up. Have met with two lactation consultants and two pediatricians for appointments after the birth of our son while trying to establish supply / breastfeeding after an unexpected c section. As first time parents, they have been so incredibly helpful, reassuring, reasonable / realistic about a plan that we can stick to and so encouraging (including helping both myself and my husband understand how we can work together to meet our goals). I love everything about the breastfeeding center. I go to the one in my children’s doctor’s office which is Kids Plus Pediatrics in Squirrel Hill/Greenfield. They are always so welcoming, understanding and willing to help! They gave me better techniques and pointers and breastfeeding has been a breeze ever since! I will always rave about them!!
