This program is not efficient for anyone living in the United States who wants a solid education. I do not recommend it. I was excited about having an affordable option to earn a second degree from home while raising my young children, but this program has caused more stress than it’s worth. I don’t feel that I’m receiving a quality education for the career path I’ve chosen. There is absolutely no technical support. I share the same sentiments of nearly every other reviewer. When I started pathway 5 or so years ago I was so impressed. Great learning environment, wonderfully applicable courses, and a cost that has no comparison. There were some challenges like no reasonable access to support, lengthy ticket response, and poor opportunity to communicate with instructors. Registering for courses is easy, but after taking a break from school, the administration seriously messed up my schedule. Some of my classes aren’t in the proper order, and now I have to manually add the ones I'm supposed to take. The peer mentors are basically useless, they don’t seem to know what they’re doing and most of them don't live in the US. I love the Church & think what they're doing to help people further their education is great. The reason for the low review: The Help Center for BYU Pathway is a nightmare. I applied to the Certificates and Degrees advanced path since I got an Associates Degree through BYU Idaho years ago. Pathway says there isn't a need to send transcripts if you've received credits from BYU Idaho or Institute of Religion. None of my credits from either institutions were reflecting on my degree audit progress. I had opened a ticket expre... read more
If I could give zero stars for their inability to send your official transcripts, I would. To say they are disorganized is a huge understatement. I spoke to a gentleman who couldn't even find my transcripts! I gave my student ID, and he told me my ID was associated with a guy's account! He indicated that, because I had attended Pathway in 2018, which was over five years ago, I would have to spend at least 30 minutes to an hour reapplying so that they could reactivate my account and access my records.
