Went to Covent Gardens for lunch before exploring the area. Found this Caffe Concerto and altho pricey, was super delicious that our party left happily satisfied. Best we had was the Christmas Duck Confit, fit for a king really. The mussels as a starter was good enough to be a mains really. The sauce was so slurpy yummy. We were immediately drawn to Caffè Concerto in Covent Garden by its outstanding location, right in the very heart of London’s West End. Surrounded by theatres, culture, and the vibrant energy of the area, it feels like a perfect place to pause and enjoy a refined moment during a busy day in the city. We visited Caffè Concerto on a cold, wet day and were really glad to step into such a cosy, beautifully decorated space. The indoor seating is lovely, and the staff were genuinely friendly and chatty, which made the place feel welcoming from the start. Service was on the slower side, but the team were kind throughout, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax while we waited. The cakes here are presented well, but the taste doesn’t reflect the price. They don’t have the richness you’d expect from cakes made with real, high-quality ingredients, they come across more like mass-produced cakes using cheaper substitutes. For the cost, I was hoping for something that tasted more natural and fresh.

The almond croissant was rock hard — so tough that even with a knife it was almost impossible to cut. It tasted stale, as if it had been sitting out for days. On a more positive note, my partner really enjoyed the Black Forest cake, which was light, fresh, and tasty. Service was good overall, and the drinks were fine.
