My partner and I had a great time leasing a flat with Carlton. Jake is one of the most honest and down to earth real estate agents I have dealt with and he made the leasing process incredibly easy, which is rare in the current rental climate! Carlton seems to care about the properties themselves whilst leasing them out, which is a big difference from the other major estate agents.
I called on Saturday to make an offer on a flat in Canonbury, and was told I "wasn't allowed to make an offer without seeing the flat". I couldn't make the viewing, and later learned the estate agent was obliged to take my offer to the landlord but refused. The person working there provided a truly breathtaking mix of condescending, rude and unhelpful qualities.
I am sharing my experience as tenant in Highbury through Carlton. We dealt with Ally Grist (who should apply for the award of the worst and inhuman estate agent in London). In the past 10 years in London, this was by far the most horrendous experience I had with an estate agent. Firstly, My wife and I had issues with the boiler which was making horrible noise all the day and nigh. Carlton never managed to fix after dozens of visits from their selected plumbers.
