I absolutely would not recommend Champion of Johnson City TN to anyone. The workmanship of the installation of the windows (we replaced EVERY window in our home so this was not an overnight and cheap job) was less than acceptable. Had to have the crew back out on 3-4 different occasions to "fix" their poor work, clean up after the job, and just attempt to correct the comedy of errors that took place. Even today, I have drafts in the windows, whereas I did not with the 20+ year old windows, and my electric bill is now double ... read more
Based upon this experience.
When I talked to them about the sliding door being hard to move, they told me it was the nature of the door and I don't agree with that.
Do your homework and research reviews. sales people can be pushy, changes will be made without your knowledge or consent on the contract. if you cancel anything on the contract they will make you feel guilty for doing such. If you have a good quality electrician you know. I would hire him and not trust any electrician they send out.
The windows could of been sized better.
I feel I was very mislead regarding the 2 sliding glass doors I purchased from Champion. I'd had Anderson sliding glass doors for 38 years and had been very satisfied with them. I was told by the Champion salesman that the doors I ordered would basically "fit right in" the space once the old doors were removed. They did not. The installer had to fill in the door openings with boards, and spray foam insulation. We were led to believe there would be a crew to install our windows and there was just one installer. It took him two days. I think it would've been better if they sent out a crew to do it in one day. The salesman implied there would be a crew.
