I think Champion windows are sound windows. The process to get the windows ordered was terrible. The manager completely dropped the ball and my order was late. An upsell opportunity that was identified by the person who did the final measuring and agreed upon by me never got installed.
First off, the door was installed 1 month later than the latest date we were promised. (5 to 8 weeks ended up being 12 weeks) Because I was home at the time of the installation, after the old door was removed, I noticed the sub-foor from a previous installation had water damage and was rotted. Before I noticed this, the installer was already placing the shims to align and square the door right over the rotted floor. I will never use champion again or recommend them! The installer broke our side screen door and blamed it on us, when we saw him break it! We contacted champion about our broken door and they told us that someone would get back to us, we have still haven't heard from the manager we talked to or our sales person!
We were told eight weeks to start with ten days to build. It took six months to get started. Do not make promises you can not keep. We got a 3 season room. And it took 3 seasons to build. I'm glad I didn't get a year round room.
Dan the salesman is easy to work with and was a pleasure to talk to. The installation crew was very professional, left our home clean. However a few of our windows will not lock easily like the display model in the showroom, and one screen has a defect. The installation crew made note of this and told us Champion would call to resolve the issue within two weeks. I have not to this day heard from Champion Windows.
