A woman came to the ER ill and said she had chest pain and you told you to sit down and made her wait. This department and staff need a serious conversation about emergency protocol with chest pain. A heart attack is high priority and time sensitive.

I was admittedly pretty disgruntled about going to the ER, but my care team made it as positive an experience as something like that can be. I was taken back promptly, the nurses were compassionate, personable, and - most importantly - competent, and I was provided with my medical options + pros / cons and the autonomy to choose the route I preferred to take. Absolutely horrid experience. We had gone in the hopes of being treated and for the 20 minutes we were in triage the Lead Nurse had told us it wouldn’t be a problem and that there was no reason why we wouldn’t be able to get treated for what we were there for. Hopes were elevated, it was a shot in the dark, but we held steady that all would end well. Zero! Be sure you know how the Dr will code your visit for billing! I went to Chelsea ER for a wild cat bite and Rabies vaccine. Unfortunately, the Billing Dept thinks this is an injury, and not life threatening, coded my bill as Injury...so now I have a huge bill! The hospital gets paid, but the code determines the true reason for to Dr visit and who pays it.

We received good care here. It wasn't very busy but it still seemed to take longer than I would expect for a nearly empty ER. Discharge process was entirely too long, for no apparent reason.. like 6 hours too long. However, I would still recommend this hospital way before the one in Jackson.
