Went after the usual lunch rush but right before dinner. It was pretty calm and We were the only ones at the window. We ordered the Chilaquiles Rojos w some tweaks to it. They got everything right and it was out in no time. They tasted amazing!! The chips were indeed freshly made, the salsa rojo was perfectly spiced and had that "bite" to it I've been missing for so long! The queso fresco we the perfect addition! I'll go again!
Chilaquil, which is located at The Historic Pearl in SATX, is a great spot for Mexican street food!! They are situated in the Food Hall at Bottling, and their space is very well-curated, clean, and well-kept within the building. They make excellent Veggie Tacos (I recommend getting the set of 4, made with flour tortillas)!! The staff were very efficient & kind during my first visit, making my experience all the better! :-)
I enjoyed the Al Pastor Mini Taquitos and the horchata was good just wish it was not packaged , I could tell the difference from homemade and packaged . My only complaint was NOT receiving a message that my food was ready , I understand I was dining with a friend however the girl could’ve been descriptive that my friend would get a text message that BOTH our orders would be ready . I was not aware and she saw me .
The ordering process was smooth, my food order was 4 tacos and they were made correctly. My drink was lemonade aqua fresca and there wasn't any fresca... the drink taste much like water and a hint of lemonade. Overall the meal was good and the drink I'm sure is much better on another day. 8/10 I recommend.
Been here a few times when I’m desperate for something quick at the pearl but been disappointed too many times. Don’t bother going unless you wanna wait 30 minutes for 2 cold tacos that have been smushed into aluminum foil.
