We found Dr. Cooper twelve years ago when expecting our first child and have recommended him to dozens of people since. He's helpful, compassionate, knowledgeable, and quick to return calls. Yet he's also (as another commenter said) laid-back and relaxed, nonjudgmental, and extremely supportive of extended breastfeeding and different choices about things like vaccination schedules. We moved last year but continue with Acton Medical specifically because of Dr. Cooper.
Dr. Cooper is accessible, prompt (both for visits and in returning calls), friendly, professional, and non-hysterical. If you have a healthy child who is developing within expected ranges, Dr. Cooper will NOT desperately search for ways to interfere. He's very laid-back unless he needs to step in, and then, he goes out of his way to be supportive and reassuring. I never feel like he's looking for something to be wrong with my son. I absolutely LOVE Dr. Cooper. As a first time mom to a preemie, he made me and my husband feel like our daughter was the most important person in the hospital/office. My daughter who is 9 months loves him as well. What child will smile at her Dr. and hold his hand AFTER he gives her a shot?
Dr. Cooper has a relaxed but interested manner. He listens carefully and makes you feel as if your children are his only patients of the day. I love his laissez faire approach, but warn that if you require a very energetic response to your questions and issues, he is not the doctor for you. Neurotic new moms will either benefit from the serene approach or it will make them crazier.
