I had to reschedule the cruise once & a staff member resolved that for me easily. The sunset cruise itself was very enjoyable & comfortable. Everyone on board was willing to assist me in my wheelchair. The staff that helped me on and off the boat were amazingly helpful, cheerful, & kind. I do wish I'd chosen a sunset cruise with some narration. I didn't think I'd miss it, but it would have been useful. I think my kids (teens & early 20s) would have gotten more out of it. We went on the 50 minute cruise this morning to the Statue of Liberty and back. Our tour guide for the journey was a lovely lady Debbie. Debbie shared interesting information about New York’s history as well as personal accounts of her own experiences with 9/11 and the losses she suffered. Debbie was excellent so wanted to say what an asset she is to Circle Line cruises. The cruise itself was brief but very informative and I would recommend it.
We booked the sunset tour, but unfortunately, with the cloudy weather and non-stop rain, there was no sunset to see at all. A big thank you to the crew for adapting the route to the weather and taking us all the way around Manhattan instead, as the original plan of cruising around the Statue of Liberty at sunset simply wouldn’t have worked that evening. I recommend this tour everyone. Crew do their job at the highest. This tour is easiest without docking to Liberty Island. If you want to go Liberty Island, not this one. Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, alongside at Hudson river, Jersey city lanscaping and of course Statue of Liberty. NYC has lots of other sightseeing, you need plenty of time. This one saves time, and best photoshots.
Taking a sunset cruise on the Hudson was definitely a wise decision instead of the daytime one...plus the evenings are a bit cooler in this summer heat, pre-purchasing your ticket in advance is highly recommended, expect a bit of wait in line to board the vessel...which is why its recommend to arrive at least 45 minutes before start time.
